Lipids are only one monomer and they are important because they make up cell membranes. Nucleic acids are made up of nucleotides and they are important because they make up genetic material. Proteins are made up of amino acids called the R group and they are important because they make up nearly everything that is organic. Carbohydrates are made up of sugars and they are important because they contain energy. Monomers are what makes polymers. Dehydration synthesis is the chemical reaction they makes monomers into polymers by taking away water. Hydrolysis is how you break down polymers into monomers by adding water.

1) The difference between monomers and polymers is the fact that monomers are the BUILDING BLOCKS of polymers. This can be remembered from the prefix; mono is one while poly is many. Another example that can be used to remember this is letters; letters are, essentially, the monomers and together they make a word, or polymers.

Lipids are not made up of monomers but they are important because they make up the cell membrane. The monomers of nucleic acids are nucleotides and these are important because they create the genetic makeup (DNA and RNA) of every living being. Proteins are made of amino acids and their structure is very important. Carbohydrates are made up of sugars and they give us energy. I remember that monomers are put together to make polymers because monomers are like letters. Dehydration synthesis causes the loss of a water molecule and that’s how polymers are made from monomers. If you want to break down polymers into monomers you would add a water molecule through the process of hydrolysis.

Thanks to Mr.Anderson and previous chapter reviews, I can memorize that a monomer is one part of something. Like the few members in a gang while the polymer is the entire big organization as a whole.

Monomers make polymers and polymers make monomer! Thinking they have a difference would confuse me. Monomers are small building blocks that make up the biological molecules.

1. The difference between a monomer and a polymer is that a monomer is what makes the polymer. I'd probably remember this by thinking that "Mono" means one which is just one monomer and, well, "Poly" is many which means many monomers put together.

1.Monomers are much smaller as they are the building blocks to larger biological molecules; I will remember this by using the root mono that means one. Polymers are made up of monomers so I can remember this by knowing that monomers which are smaller make up polymers.

For me monomers are like letters that make up stories. they are the building blocks that create structure and depending on their bonding there is a different function. For example lipids are monomers that build membranes Polymers for the contrary are build from monomers, they are like a sentence written by letters (monomers). this sentences (bonds) would be make of chemicals and would create different things such as amino acids and proteins.

Monomers are "mono-one", the building blocks of molecules. On the other hand, polymers are "poly-many", more than one monomer. Dehydration Synthesis is the reaction that builds polymers from monomers. What happens is that one water molecule is lost. "DE"-hydration is the lost of water. Hydrolysis is the reaction that breaks down polymers into monomer. In this case, a molecule of water is added making it the opposite of dehydration. The monomer of nucleic acids are nucleotides and they are important because they are the DNA and RNA of an organism. The monomer of proteins are amino acids and they are important because basically make up almost everything. Lipids only have one monomer and they are important because they make up cell membrane and give energy. The monomer for carbohydrates are sugars and they are important because they also give energy.

Nucleotides are the building blocks of nucleic acids and they're important because they carry genetic information. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and they make up everything. Lipids only consists of one monomer, they make up all cell membrane and are a great source of energy. Some are polar and some are nonpolar. Sugar is the building block of carbohydrates and they give us energy.

monomers are the building blocks that make up the biological molecules. Polymers are made up of monomers. The nucleic acids are the DNA and the RNA. Their monomer is nucleotide. They are important because they pass genetic materiel and pass it on from generation to generation. Proteins make up everything in the video. Proteins monomer is amino acids. Lipids are important because they make up all the cell membranes. lipids do not have monomers they are polar. sugers are the building blocks of carbohydrates.

I remember monomers because mono means one while polymers means 2 or more. Monomers consist of nucleotides which means that we get out genetic information from this so called momomers. Also Monomers have proteins which proteins help us get energy this means with out Monomers we wouldn't have any energy. Dehydration synthesis means we lose liquid from our body.
